My name is Mary Hunt and I am the ages 8-9 Program Manager. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and I spent my many summers as a camper at Trailside. As a child, I loved walking on the trails and watching the salmon in the creek.
Outdoor education is critical in conserving the natural world. By engaging conversation and exploration, children and adults are made aware of their social responsibility to their surroundings.
I cannot wait to see all the familiar faces that the summer brings and to work with new families, campers and staff members. It’s incredible seeing campers return year after year. I had campers when they were four and five who are now going on overnight trips!
I plan on attending a masters program in Europe focusing on global ecology and biology.
