Luke Stauffer – Trips/High Adventure Program Manager

My name is Luke Stauffer and I'm the Trips/High Adventure Program Manager! I was born in Colorado, raised in Arizona, and finally I found my home in Alaska. Growing up, I spent most summers camping and fishing in the Southwest. Everywhere I went camping I would hike around and find the best spot to build an awesome shelter. These adventures inspired me to learn more about the outdoors and what it takes to be a steward of the environment. We only have this one planet that we all call home, and I feel a responsibility to help keep it beautiful and flourishing for generations to come.

I'm very excited for this year of Trailside because we have so many new instructors and campers that are looking forward to another wonderful year exploring Southcentral Alaska! One of the most important things to remember while exploring the outdoors are the principles of Leave No Trace. These principles help keep our wilderness looking as pristine as possible. I keep these principles in mind every time I go outdoors and it makes all of my experiences so much better knowing that I'm contributing to the well being of our wilderness.

I look forward to spending another summer in the land of the midnight sun!
