My name is Kaily Stanton and I'm the ages 4-5 Program Manager at Trailside this year. I was born and raised in Anchorage Alaska, and grew up enjoying camping, hiking, and boating in the outdoors. Outdoor education is so important, especially in Alaska, because we are surrounded by the beautiful wilderness and must learn about it in order to fully appreciate it.
This is my third year at Trailside, and I'm mostly looking forward to seeing all the campers and being a part of their fun summer experience. I think the most important thing to remember about outdoor conservation is that you can be a steward of the environment and also enjoy everything Mother Nature has to offer!!
My favorite times at Trailside as a Positive Role Model has to be the conclusion of each week of camp. I love seeing the growth of our campers from the start of the week to the end, and the excitement of another fun week ahead.
I just graduated from UAA with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and plan to move to Japan in August to pursue a job in education. I will be forever grateful to Trailside for helping me realize my love of teaching and facilitating the growth of young minds.
Thank you, Trailside Discovery Camp! I can't wait for another fun summer!!
