This year, 19 inspiring teens from nine communities across Alaska are heading to Juneau to dive into civic engagement, learn about state government, and discover how to make their voices heard in the legislative process. Representing Bethel, Utqiaġvik, Chignik Lagoon, Noatak, St. Mary’s, Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks, these young leaders are ready to make an impact. Learn more about them below!
Youth Delegates

Howdy! My name is Braylon, I live in Anchorage Alaska, and I care about the environment. Some of my hobbies include sketching, gaming, and writing. I overall consider myself a creative person, and in the future I hope to use that creativity to help solve problems, no matter how big they might be.

My name is Ilsa and I have lived in Anchorage, AK my whole life. In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, and practicing my water coloring skills. I am also super into music, especially Radiohead! I am a senior in highschool and the president of my school’s environmental club as well.

My name is Stav. I am 16 years old and I live in Fairbanks. I'm a sophomore at West Valley high school and my favorite classes are ceramics and history. I've done climate advocacy work for a while and am passionate about playing some part in changing the world for the better. I spend most of my free time crafting, doing homework, and working at my family's restaurant.

My name is Aster, I live in Ester. I love to paint and listen to music. I’m graduating this May and plan to go to college on the East Coast. I want to study Art and Political Science.

Hi I’m Vance. I’m a senior at Lathrop High School and I’m really excited to be part of AYEA. I love reading, listening to music and sharing new ideas.

My name is Maddie! I’m Juneau born and raised, and I enjoy music, public speaking, and books. I’m excited to participate in this summit and help change Alaska’s future!

My name is Brianna, everyone calls me Bri. I am from Chignik Lagoon which is fairly close to the Bristol Bay Area. I participate in a lot of commercial and subsistence fishing in the summer and my winters are spent doing school.

Hi I'm Gilanna I am part Samoan, Native, and I love sports, mainly volleyball. I live in Chignik Lagoon and like most people here I have lived in Alaska all my life and I hope to meet new people and make new friends.

Hi, my name is Barbara, I am from Noatak, Alaska. I am Iñupiaq, and I can’t wait to attend the AYEA summit.

I'm from Noatak, AK. I'm very well known as someone who is jolly, making others laugh or smile.

My name is Keira. I am Iñupiaq and I live in Noatak Alaska, but I currently go to Galena Interior Learning Academy. I'm really excited to be part of this Summit and meet everyone. I’m looking forward to learning and sharing experiences with everyone!

Hi, I’m Kai from Anchorage! I am a senior and have found a great community with AYEA so I am excited to be back. The Civics Summit is one of my high school highlights!

My name is Sabine, I am 17 years old, live in Anchorage and I'm a Senior in high school. I have held a deep passion for animals and the environment since I was young and recently dove more into activism and the humanitarian side of things. I have been a part of AYEA since September and the experiences I have gained already are incredible. I'm super excited about this summit and to see what we all accomplish!

I was born and raised in Fairbanks, and am very connected with my Fairbanks community. I'm a senior in high school, and am currently a full time student at UAF. I am passionate about education, food justice, and helping Alaska to adapt through climate change.
